Russell Mineral Equipment honoured by Ambassadorial Visit
When the opportunity for Russell Mineral Equipment to host a visit of the highest level of diplomats from Latin America arose, the company was delighted and humbled by the opportunity.
Russell Mineral Equipment has had many years of experience working with customers from all over the world, including Latin America. Today, around 40% of Russell Mineral Equipments sales of Mill Relining Systems products and services are made into the Latin American region.
“Forging trade relations between Australia and Latin America is always a good thing” said Mr John Russell, Managing Director of Russell Mineral Equipment. “We are very honoured that such a distinguished group of Latin American representatives would show such interest in our company, that they would take time from their busy schedules to learn more about the company”.
Snr Pedro Villagra Delgado, Ambassador of the Argentine Republic commented “Our countries have competed in export markets because we have a lots of the same products. But the thing you have to look at in the future is how to build partnerships
between the two regions”.
John Russell concurred “Russell Mineral Equipment has many Mill Relining Systems installed in Latin America. In fact, Latin American mine sites have been the leading adopters of the most advanced element of the Russell Mill Relining System, the RUSSELL Twin 8 Mill Relining Machines. We continue to partner with our customers after the initial sale, providing an increasing level of local service, spares and ongoing support to the Latin American region.
Apart from being impressed at the company’s facilities at the Russell Mineral Equipment headquarters, the delegation were interested to learn of the variety of businesses currently or planning to do business with the Latin American region.
“We thought that Toowoomba was a beautiful city, and we were very interested to see the types of industries, including software development, beef, food exports, and tertiary education that can be found in and around the city” said Snr Villagra Delgado.
Russell Mineral Equipment’s track record in Latin America, includes being awarded the 2009 Australia-Latin American Business Excellence Awards for excellence in doing business with Latin America. Russell Mineral Equipment has two offices in Chile, which provide the company’s customer with support to select the best Mill Relining Systems products for their mine sites’ needs, and to provide service and spares support through the life of the equipment.
